Gastroenterology, CGH Launch Podcasts

Gastroenterology and its fellow AGA Institute journal, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology (CGH), now offer audio podcasts. Hosted by the journals' online editor John F. Kuemmerle, MD, AGAF, professor of medicine and physiology at the Medical College of Virginia Campus, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, each monthly episode presents a mix of author interviews and expert opinion based on articles from the latest issues. Topics for discussion in the premiere editions include an interview on refractory celiac disease for Gastroenterology and a discussion of bloating symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome for CGH.

Podcasting allows the journals to disseminate unique and important GI-related information to busy journal readers in a highly engaging, convenient format. Each 10-15 minute podcast can be listened to on-the-go via iPod or on any media player.

The Gastroenterology and CGH podcasts are accessible via the journal homepages or at www.gastro.org/gastropodcast and www.gastro.org/cghpodcast, respectively. Listeners can download episodes or subscribe via an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed that will automatically update new content for users. Both of these functions are free.

Partial funding for the podcasts has been provided by an educational grant from Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc.
